We have held two kids’ events in the past two weeks. The first event was on April 27th. It was a superhero theme, and we all dressed up as something. We had Superman and Batman, my friend Nikol and I dressed up as dolls, and the rest of the missionaries dressed up as children. We had a drama, sang songs and danced, played games, watched magic tricks, and more! The preparation was intense, but the event was so exciting and fun. We had around 40 kids show up to hear about Jesus and His love for them.
The second event was a follow-up of the first event to keep the kids involved and to help bridge the gap in between the first event and our first service at the church. We still did a superhero theme, but this event was shorter. We learned two new songs and listened to a drama called “The Thief of Happiness.” Two different characters in the story put all their happiness in their stuffed animal or soccer ball, but the third character found her happiness completely in God. When the thief of happiness came to take away each character’s source of happiness, he took away the stuffed animal and the soccer ball, but he was not able to take away the happiness of the third character, because she held that happiness with Jesus inside of her heart. The moral of the story is how God’s joy in our hearts can never be taken away by anyone, and in Him we can be content.
